Palmerston North, often referred to as Palmerston, or as the Palmy, is the main city in the region of Manawatu-Bergen of the North Island of New Zealand. The city is located inland, at the Eastern Manawatu Plains, close to the north side of the Manawatu River. The city is located about 140 km north of the capital Wellington.

Many of the original shops that were built in the 1920s and 1930s the number is restored and now works as the shops, cafes and restaurants. For the sports enthusiasts is the rugby Museum an important stopping place. Palmerston North is known for dramatic productions at the local theatre.

Palmerston North City and Manawatu is centered around a beautiful inner city park filled with public art and surrounded by rural children's playground.

There is a lot to see and do, as Te Apiti-Manawatu Gorge, a number of museums, taste your way through the farmer's market and on the banks of the Whanganui River Koriniti Marae, provides a complete meal with traditional Maori hangi food.
